Charles Henry Schaefer was born July 17, 1936, in Appleton, WI. He entered his heavenly home on September 11, 2016.

He was the only child of Henry and Georgia Schaefer.

Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mona; 2 sons: Jeffery Schaefer of Clovis, CA. Joel Schaefer and his wife Mary, of Portland, OR; a daughter, Jennifer Jimenez and her husband, Martin, of Clovis, CA; and 2 grandsons; Jeremy Bergmann, his wife Lisa of Clovis, CA. and Jonathan Bergmann of San Diego, CA. Charles was thrilled that he was able to live to see his great-granddaughter, Madison Grace Bergmann (Jeremy and Lisa's daughter). Charles also leaves behind many cousins, brother and sister-in laws, nieces and nephews.

Charles was born, grew up, and worked on the family farm until 1964. Charles graduated from Hortonville Union High School in Hortonville, WI and then attended an agricultural course at the University of WI-Madison. He was also honorably discharged from the Army Reserves with the title Sargent E5 in that same year.

Charles, Mona and family moved to California in 1976. Charles continued his work as Operations Manager for AO Smith Harvestore, until starting the partnership business, Organics, Inc. In 1984, he was offered and accepted the job of Maintenance Manager at Trinity Lutheran Church. He truly enjoyed his work at the church and enjoyed all the people he came in contact with. Charles could fix almost anything, and this type of job was just right for him.

The family wants to especially thank the nurses and CNA's at Willow Creek Nursing Facility who provided him care and support through the last 3 years of his life.

Memorial services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church located at Cedar and Dakota.

Arrangements under the direction of Stephens & Bean Funeral Chapel, Fresno, CA.
